Summer with Nasty Girls in Aomori, from 4th to 7th Aug

On 4th, one of my good friends Mami came to Aomori from Yokohama!! We graduated from same university, majoring in same thing, international politics. Needless to say, lazy Seiko Sei used to borrow her notebooks before the exams, hahaha... Now she works in shipping industry so we used to talk and complain a lot about our work. As we are quite close, it was good to share the summer time with her, and other two nasty girls, Hachan and Zunko, my friends from Jr high school. As Mami and rest of us have already met, it was easy for us to feel comfortable with all companies.

On 4th, as our traditional Nebuta festival had already started, we went our to see it on the street. The details of Nebuta is below.

With 5 minutes walk from my apartment, we can see the huge Nebuta statues being pulled and moving with musical accompaniement. After picking up Mami at the station with Hachan and mom, Junko and her mom came to us. They helped us wear the traditional cloth for summer, Yukata, then went out.

Mom kindly reserved the seats for all of us, we comfortable sat and saw the festival. The music and hot atmosphere made us feel excited for dancing for the next day. And better than anything alse, we were so happy to wear Yukata! They are just soooooo cute!!

On 5th, in daytime, we drove to 萱野茶屋, Kayanochaya. There is a tea stall with level green field on the mountain. In the morning we cooked and brought lunch box for picnic!! Rice balls, fried egg, wild vegetable Mizu, boiled sausage (my favorite food), and petit tomatoes.

On the way, we played music in the car and were singing crazily, driving away the stress!!(^^)

As it was a bit too hot, after lunch we could drink just a bit of hot tea...

The signboard say, 'With one cup, u can live three years longer. With two cups, u can live six years longer. With three cups, wow! U can live as long as u die!!!'

Hey my friends in Aomori who have tried this, how do u think? Haha!!

After we went back to the city, finally we joined Nebuta festival, the most special-featured program!! From 19:00 to 21:00, approximately 20 huge statues pass around the street with dancers and music with dram, flute and gong. All of the dancers are some kind of enthusiasm and dance crazily. We changed the clothes to special Yukata costume and enjoyed the moment!!!

It was such a good memory with all of my good and nasty friends to spend the time in Nebuta festival. If I was still working in my ex company, due to too much work and stress, I could not have enjoyed this time. Even now I reverigy my decision is correct!!!
